About Evans Head



This coastal village is situated around 230km south from Brisbane and 720km north of Sydney. It is a part of the Richmond Valley Shire and is surrounded by two National Parks and the Pacific Ocean. This region is popular for its surf and fishing spots that attract people from far and wide. Uncrowded beaches and sandy shallows of the Evans River offer a playful sanctuary for children and grownups alike. There are more than 20,000 hectares of gorgeous National Parks, which are surrounding the town. They have plenty of walking and driving tracks if you are interested in soaking up some wildlife and wildflower and birdlife. The famous 4WD beach can be reached from the Airforce Beach and this town is a good option even for campers and caravan owners.

By Plane

Evans Head is easily accessible from Ballina/Byron Airport, as it situated just 30 minutes by car and 90 minutes from Coolangatta/ Gold Coast Airport.



You can even arrive at Grafton City Airport and Lismore City Airport by Regional Express or at Ballina Airport with Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Regional Express.



By Car


Evans Head is around eight hours and 20 minutes north of Sydney and around two hours 40 minutes south of Brisbane. You can take the Pacific Highway and turn off at Woodburn into Alfred Street or at Broadwater at McDonald Street.
